The new 27,000-square-foot state-of-the-art baggage claim building has three brand new carousels, each with the capacity to handle baggage from two Boeing 737 jets.

The stunning terrazzo floor located throughout the building is an important long-term investment to withstand the over nine million Southwest Airlines passengers and their luggage who will travel through this building each year, while contributing to the Port of Oakland's efforts to create a green and sustainable operating environment. A new food court in Terminal 1, next to the passenger security checkpoint, will offer travelers their first and last chance to enjoy local favorites such as Heinholds' and Lois the Pie Queen, and nationally recognized brands such as Burger King, Quiznos and Pizza Hut.

New Terminal 1 Food Court
OAK travelers' taste buds will tingle with the many choices beyond passenger screening in Terminal 1. Choices will include Max's, Koi Palace and New York-style pizza and pasta at Famiglia Pizzeria.
